【HONG KONG, 4 November, 2015 】The 27th International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) General Assembly was held in Gwangju, Korea, on the 17th and 18th of October 2015. Industry association representatives from around 20 different cities and countries attended the assembly. The IFI General Assembly discussed the projects and budget of IFI over the past board term, confirmed the topic for IFI World Interior Days, as well as outlined and planned for initiatives to be undertaken around the world in future with the revised advocacy platform. The assembly wrapped up with the IFI committee elections. Mr. Steve Leung was elected as IFI President Elect for 2015-2017 and President in 2017. Steve is the first Chinese to be elected to this position.
 
 Recognized internationally, Steve has served the interior design industry in many capacities with enthusiasm. In 2013, he was appointed as Executive Director of the Design Committee at China National Interior Decoration Association (CIDA). In 2014, he joined hands with interior designers from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to established “C Foundation” to promote the education and the development of the design industry.

 At his speech for being nominated as President Elect at the 27th IFI General Assembly, Steve said: “ I am no longer interested in fame, wealth or business. Now, I want to devote myself to community service through sharing, charity and continue to promote our industry worldwide. I will do my best to create a more unified, cohesive and open IFI. If I succeed in being elected as President of IFI, I would like to say IFI does not belong to any individual, country or region. It belongs to you and me – to all of us. We will not be self-serving or playing politics, but will support and encourage the global interior design industry as a family.” Mr Leung’s passion for promoting the development of international interior architecture is inspiring, allowing him to win the support needed to be President Elect of IFI.
